Tokeland Food Bank

Since July 2023, the Tokeland Food Bank, a nonprofit mobile food bank, is bringing essential groceries to the underserved populations of Tokeland, North Cove and Grayland in Washington State.

Our mission is to reduce food insecurity for individuals and families facing limited food access and economic challenges. Located in Southwest Washington on coast, the majority of the residence are elderly, disabled and work in seasonal professions such as fishing. The nearest grocery store is 20 minutes from Tokeland further compromising access. We truly reside in a what would be considered a "food desert". The collective population of Tokeland, North Cove and Grayland is <600 residents.

Our origins began delivering USDA boxes of fruits and vegetables during the pandemic and has grown 100% incrementally each year since. With no paid employees, our strength is the committed volunteer team who organize over 3,500 lbs. of donated food into cars and trucks delivering it to over 100 families/250 individuals EACH WEEK.

Our mobile method of outreach is unique and is delivering results. Unfortunately we have outgrown our current location and desperately a larger building and more refrigeration/freezers to operate.

Please help us keep our momentum and continuing our mission to support this underserved community. Our plans are for a simple pole building are modest, yet functional. Last summer I sold my husband's boat and moved the Tokeland Food Bank into our shop, now the shop is too small and getting more difficult to operate in with our growing list of clients.
