The Order of the Christ Sophia Inc (OCS)

Our primary mission is to help bring peace to the world. In our spiritual Centers we teach how to attain inner peace through meditation and prayer. At our retreat center, the Sophia Peace Center in Dolores, Colorado, we address the fact that many of the people who work to make the world a better place do so through their work in social services, environmental action, violence prevention, health advocacy and poverty assistance in their communities. They are mostly employed for little money and they work long hours in non-profits which do not have the funds to hold retreats. These people need retreats more than most, to revision their contributions, re-inspire their workers, train their leaders, volunteers and board members, so they can be more effective in serving their communities. We offer nearly free or reduced rate retreats for non-profits. We thereby contribute to world peace by supporting those who work in the trenches making the world a better place through social services, environmental work, health care, housing and food assistance, positive activism and spiritual development.We also support the strengthening of families by hosting weddings and family reunions at the Sophia Peace Center.
