HELP us House Homeless Youth
In Southern Nevada there are approximately 2200 homeless youth ages 16-24 at any given time. HELP of Southern Nevada's Shannon West Homeless Youth Center(SWHYC) is a residential facility with 65 beds providing emergency shelter, transitional living, substance abuse treatment, balanced meals, intensive case management and supportive services such as education, financial literacy, employment training and life skills. Our youth enter SWHYC having aged out of foster care, left a volatile home situation and often times becoming homeless through no fault of their own.
$57 will house, feed and support a youth for one day and our immediate goal is to secure 4500 nights of housing. Some of you may want to give on at a higher level and we ask that you consider a week of housing for $399 or a night every month for the next year for $684 or 100 nights of housing at $5700.
