My name is Chase Hubbard. I am an Alumni of Eastern Connecticut State University and Eastern Connecticut State University Men's Rugby Football Club. Every year, we host the annual Olga Ezis Plunge for Hunger to benefit the Covenant Soup Kitchen in Willimantic, CT. All proceeds go directly to the CSK to help with their annual budget as they continue to help feed Eastern Connecticut's hungry population. Over the past 10 years, we have raised over 1 million dollars for the CSK. This would not be possible without you, our generous donors. This year, we are here to ask for your help once more. To celebrate our community fundraising efforts, we meet at Lauter Park on Feb 1st to plunge into the Willimantic River, wearing costumes of various themes! Join us! Every donation counts, no matter how small!

The Covenant Soup Kitchen's walk-in freezer is broken! Thousands of pounds of food were lost Thursday night affecting many of our residents and families!

Please consider donating what you can to help them buy a new freezer and replace the food so nobody goes hungry this holiday season and all year!

UConn's Creative Writing Program is raising money to benefit Covenant Soup Kitchen, Inc., in Willimantic. Any donation will help make an impact.

The Creative Sustenance Benefit Reading will feature Margaret Gibson and Heather Oakley; it will take place NOVEMBER 14th @ 5:30pm at the Barnes & Noble UConn Bookstore in Downtown Storrs (1 Royce Circle).

Attendees are encouraged to make a donation to benefit the Covenant Soup Kitchen in Willimantic. Realizing that people can be impoverished physically, mentally, emotionally, spiritually, socially and financially, Covenant Soup Kitchen provides food and access to basic services in an environment of care, love, support and safety to those individuals and families from the greater Windham community who come through their doors.

Margaret Gibson is the former Poet Laureate of Connecticut and the author of 14 books of poetry, including her most recent, Draw Me Without Boundaries. Her book The Glass Globe won the Connecticut Book Award in Poetry, and she recently edited an anthology titled Waking Up to the Earth: Connecticut Poets in a Time of Global Climate Crisis. She is a Professor Emerita at UConn-Storrs.

Heather Oakley is an actor, director, and educator who taught in NYC for over 20 years. She trained at The Atlantic Theater Company and was invited to join their faculty teaching NYU undergraduates and Conservatory students.

My name is Chase Hubbard, Alumnus of Eastern Connecticut State University Men’s Rugby Football Club. Every year, the Men’s Rugby program of past and present serve and volunteer at the Covenant Soup Kitchen located on Valley Street in Willimantic, Connecticut. One of our biggest endeavors is fundraising for the CSK, with the Polar Plunge for Hunger our biggest event of the year. During the early winter, individuals across Eastern Connecticut and Windham County band together to raise money, which is then matched by the Olga Ezis Foundation and other cooperating bodies. Eastern Connecticut Men’s Rugby and the CSK are asking for your help! No little donation is too small, and please join us on February 3rd, at noon, Lauter Park in Willimantic Connecticut to celebrate our efforts by taking the legendary Plunge For Hunger into the Willimantic River.
