Every single week, Brixies Rescue Inc. works tirelessly to save dogs and cats from overcrowded rural shelters — many of them just hours away from being euthanized.

Right now, we rely on borrowed or rented vehicles to bring animals to safety, which limits how many lives we can save.

We’ve finally found the perfect used Ford Transit van for $13,000 that can be fully transformed into our official Brixies Transport Vehicle — and we need your help to make it happen!

Why We Need This Van

Having our own rescue van means more lives saved.

With this vehicle, we’ll be able to:

• Respond to emergency calls from overcrowded shelters faster.

• Transport dogs and cats safely from shelters to loving foster homes.

• Deliver supplies, food, and medical support to fosters and adopters.

• Provide safe, climate-controlled, and stress-free rides for every animal we save.

It was brought to our attention that a few tiny kittens were found behind a church A kind-hearted Good Samaritan reached out for help — and we just couldn’t turn away.

With the weather getting colder and so many cats being born outside, shelters are overflowing… and sadly, many are euthanizing due to lack of space.

We currently have no cats in our rescue, so we took this as an opportunity to step in and save these 7 precious little lives! ❤️

The finder has already secured 5 of the kittens and is still working to safely capture the remaining 2. Unfortunately, two of the kittens are sick — showing signs of eye infections and likely upper respiratory infections (URI) — but they’re now safe, warm, and getting the care they need. ✨

We have no funding at this time and are relying completely on our community for support.

Each spay/neuter costs $125, and with 7 kittens, plus medical care, supplies, and food — it all adds up fast.

Rosa is a 3-year-old Belgian Malinois mama who came into rescue after enduring instability, stress, and multiple environmental changes. She arrived with puppies, little structure, and no consistent training foundation — only survival instincts.

Like many working breeds, Rosa is intelligent, sensitive, and high-drive, but without the proper guidance, structure, and leadership, these traits can quickly turn into anxiety, overstimulation, and unsafe behaviors in a home environment.

We are raising funds to place Rosa into a 3-week professional Board & Train program so she can receive the tools she needs to succeed — and so we can set her up for a safe, stable, long-term future.

Rosa has shown:

• Difficulty with boundaries and impulse control

• Stress-related behaviors due to repeated transitions

• The need for clear structure, consistency, and professional guidance

This is not something love alone can fix — she needs experienced training, daily structure, and real-world exposure guided by a professional.

Without this support, Rosa’s chances of a successful long-term placement are at risk.

About the Training Program

Rosa will be enrolled in a 3-week Advanced Obedience Board & Train with a professional trainer in their private home. This program includes:

✔️ Obedience foundations and advanced commands

✔️ Off-leash recall and loose leash walking

✔️ Place, stay, impulse control, and manners

✔️ Real-world exposure (parks, stores, city distractions)

✔️ Daily structure, boundaries, and routine

✔️ Progress updates and videos throughout training

✔️ Door-to-door transport

✔️ A go-home lesson for her future adopter or foster

✔️ Lifetime training support

This level of training is life-changing for dogs like Rosa.

Cost Breakdown

The total cost for Rosa’s 3-week Board & Train is $2,800.

As a rescue, we operate entirely on donations and are currently facing ongoing veterinary and care expenses for many animals in our program. This training is an investment in Rosa’s life and safety.

A scared little mama dog and her six tiny babies are sitting in a shelter right now with no safe place to go. This small terrier mix has been doing everything she can to protect her newborns, but a shelter is no place for a nursing mom. The floors are cold, the noise is constant, and disease spreads quickly. Her puppies are barely 4 weeks old — they should be warm, safe, and comforted… not fighting to survive.

We couldn’t leave them behind.

So Brixies Rescue has committed to pulling this entire family and bringing them to safety here in New York on December 6th. But we can’t do it alone.
