Boys & Girls Club, Albany NY. Restore & Rebuild
On Monday Oct 9, 2023 a fire broke out at 4:55am at the Boys and Girls Club on 21 Delaware Ave in Albany NY. This caused a financial setback and a delay in the children and youth programming. Though insurance is involved, the cost of the deductible is not covered and we are asking for your help!
“The Boys & Girls Clubs of the Capital Area (BGCCA) provides safe havens for young people by offering quality programs and critical relationships with nurturing and reliable adults.”
The Boys and Girls Club is a community, a family, a place the children call “a home away from home”. A place of safety, a place of love, a place we need to come together to rebuild and restore.
About 300 children and teenagers come for afterschool and other programs.
“We do everything from supplying hot meals to providing child care to families that really need it to teens to give them a safe space to be off the streets during those prime at-risk hours. We’re here for them.” said program manager Dave Gordon.
If you feel led, please donate by clicking the gofundme link. This money will be used to help rebuild and repair the Boys and Girls Club of Albany building and replace any damaged food, supplies, items, and necessities needed to operate all BGCCA programs and activities.
We hope to promptly raise this money to restore all that was lost so the children can return as quickly as possible to a safe facility and continue with their regular scheduled clubs and programs.
Come Connect Church is connected with the Boys and Girls Club. The money raised will also be used to restore the church’s damaged belongings and supplies.
