Calling All Angels: A Cause for Four Paws
Angels With Paws is a 501(c)(3) non-profit, volunteer organization, which believes ALL animals have the right to life. To date with your donations we have been able to rescue and help over 10,000 cats and a few dogs to find their forever homes.
We are reaching out to you today because we need your help. It just so happens that all at once, we are in need of funds to help with medications and vet bills for some of the kitties that we recently rescued from dire situations and because of this our staff is in need of extra personal protection such as gloves, hair nets, face masks, and shoes covers to care for the kitties who have ringworm.
Thank you so very much for your donations as we couldn’t do this labor of love without you. This fundraiser is also done in honor or memory of kitties who have passed away this year like Brookie, Little One, Obi, and Pepe, and our other chronically ill or hospice kitties like Quiksilver, Oracle (now Olivia), and Ani.
Please take a moment to read the testimonies from three of the kitties who were recently rescued from the upsetting situations.
Emilio
I was brought into the Humane Society of Longmont as a stray, matted and extremely skinny. They shaved me and did some blood work, which showed that I have hyperthyroidism, that means my thyroid makes too much thyroid hormones. HSL asked Angels With Paws to take me in, and one morning, I rode down to Denver in a car with another cat. Then I saw their vet, Dr. Taylor, who says I’m about 15 years old. She helped the staff get the dosage of my thyroid medication right, and now I’m gaining weight! I got to Angels weighing only around 5 pounds. I love food and the staff says I have the loudest purr they’ve ever heard. I wouldn’t know, I can’t hear anything! Every few months, I will have to get blood drawn to check my thyroid levels. I also take a couple different medications daily to help me feel better and keep my thyroid in check. Thank you for your donations, they help with my care!
Special Sauce
You might see me wandering around the shelter in a sweater, I’m Special Sauce! I came to Angels With Paws after Northern Colorado Friends of Ferals contacted them. I was living in a trailer in Greeley with 24 other cats. Four of my friends came with me to Angels and are now being cared for. I am blind in one eye, which Dr. Hoyt attributes to an old lesion. I might have a tumor, but we don’t know yet, I need to have some x-rays done first! All five of us have dental disease, and even those of my friends that don’t have teeth might need dentals to remove the roots that remain. We also have painful sores on our tongues that shocked the staff. Once we’re all healthy, we will get spayed and neutered, and be ready for our forever homes! Until then, Angels With Paws is providing us with the best care possible, and your donations are making that possible!
Bonnie
Itchy…itchy…it’s all itchy! Hi I’m Bonnie and I’m an adorable little kitten with ringworm. I hate it, the staff hates it, all the other kitties I share the room with hate it, too. I come from Roswell, New Mexico, along with most of the other kitties who have ringworm. Ringworm makes me itchy and my skin flaky and sometimes my fur and whiskers fall out. The staff comes into our room wearing masks and funny clothes. I guess they can get ringworm too. They also give us a yucky tasting medicine to get rid of the ringworm. And there are a lot of us, so they must use a lot of that medicine!
