ACOMERPR is a 501(c) 3 organization that is committed to promoting access to affordable nutritious food to Puerto Ricans through food security policy advocacy and direct service initiatives. Initially, we were formed to respond to the needs of older adults who were being underserved during the COVID-19 pandemic and were able to rapidly mobilize groups of hundreds of volunteers to support our elders. However, while working with communities and partners across the island, we have seen the need for federal advocacy that can help support our populations in their time of need. We believe that effective nutritional government assistance programs are much more useful for citizens than a box of produce once a month.
