Car for a pastor to travel
Greek Orthodoxy is strong in Kenya. There are powerful prayers and strong spiritual movement there. And many, many people willing to help with their prayers. Today I received a request. Father Simeon from Nairobi diocese wrote to me:
"Am fr Simeon in a parish called st George s,stcosmas, and stnicholas orthodox churches traveling from my home to the parish every three days in a week to the farthest parish like 32miles or 60kilometers by public means where at times am late for service
Thus requesting for assistance to have a ministerial car. To Essen my services to the parishioner whom most of them are aged n orphans"
These people in Kenya are so warm-hearted and so kind and eager to help, that I at once asked how I can participate and give for this cause. Fr. Simeon said that they already had the fundraising for the car. It took place on Sunday, he said and they were able to raise 252 000 Kenyan shillings although the target was 450 000 Kenyan shillings. So they needed more, something like 2000 in USD, I figured.
He said that the Kenyan way is to go from door to door and give these cards and ask for donations. I said ok. But let's try another way.
I told Fr. Simeon that I had once had a gofundme campaign. And it was a success. And suggested we could try that once more. For the rest of the money.
This is what Fr. Simeon wrote then:
"GREAT PLS DO HELP ME AM anxious WAITING N GOD BLESS YOU IN ADVANCE"
Enough said. God bless you. Time for harvest. Thank you. Thank God.
