Knowing we'd need far more than what we were asking for, we set our online fundraising goal 3 times and each time we thought we would ask for something big, but attainable: $1,000, $3,000 and then $4,000. Each time you, our family and friends, shattered what we thought was possible. Before we had the chance to change it to $5,000 you passed it. This doesn't even include what you've contributed offline. You have far exceeded our wildest dreams and are showing us that with faith, family and friends anything is possible. Scleroderma is a very rare auto immune disease. Its where your body produces too much collagen. As a result, your skin gets thick and tight, turning your skin into rock like. Scleroderma causes scaring of the lungs and kidneys. Blood vessels thicken causing damage to the heart and other tissues in the body. Skin turns blue when cold. This disease causes damage to all internal organs and scars all over the skin along with ulcers.

Krislyn currently has disabled hands do to them hardening causing them to barely open and close. Her stomach does not digest on its own. She has damage to her heart and lungs making it very hard to work. Her esophagus nerve endings are dying. This is making it very difficult for her to eat/swallow. She has a hard time moving and walking due to this disease is turning her joints to stone. She has muscle and weight loss.

There is no cure for Scleroderma. You can manage this disease through medication. Unfortunately, medication is not helping Krislyn. Krislyn and her family have been fighting the insurance company for over a year now to do a surgery that she needs. She has progressed so quickly that her doctors are now saying her only option is to have a STEM CELL TRANSPLANT. This transplant take place at John Hopkins Hospital. INSURANCE WILL NOT PAY FOR THE SURGERY. We are holding a benefit to help with gas, hotel cost and to help for the surgery.
