David Allen once said, “  You can do anything but not everything”. Jahde’Ja Kiara White tries to do everything! As a youth diagnosed with sickle cell and chronic upper respiratory disease due to underdeveloped lungs she was plagued with many hospitalizations. Doctors tried to prepare us that she may not make it to her teenagers years. We as well as Jahde’Ja was determined this was not so. She is 17 now and as I read one of her college application essay it read: “What an incredible life I’ve had so far! Yet it feels like I am just getting started with no signs of slowing down. Where did time go? I remember my first day of kindergarten now I am getting ready for college. I’ve experienced plenty of good times, moments of jubilation, loss, sorrow, shame and redemption that have molded me to become the strong, grateful and outgoing person I am today. If I was to describe my life in one word it would be TRIUMPH ”. Through it all Jahde’Ja has maintained a 4.0GPA, is bilingual in Spanish, provided leadership and volunteers to a number of organizations within the school and her community. Currently, in the works of starting her own nonprofit called J.U.I.C.E ( Justice, Unity, and Integrity for Cultural Equality) from a club she started at school with 200 enrollees on sign up day.  She participates in sports and interns at a Physical Therapy office while working a part-time job. I’ve said it before she tries to do everything! When they said she wouldn’t be able to do anything. At this time Jahde’Ja has a new journey and is asking for help meeting a goal of $2000 that she is struggling to meet by December 10, 2017. She is honored to participate in an effort to raise scholarship funds as a debutant. As a participant, she is required to fundraise monies that will not only assist others but also herself to meet her ultimate challenge by attending George Washington University and becoming an orthopedic surgeon. Every blessing counts and would be greatly appreciated in supporting our youth.  Asking on her behalf her mom, Michelle.
