Arianna's Baby Wish

Dear Friends,
Roberto and I are excited and overjoyed to be able to welcome our first child - our little boy - this July. He will receive a lot of love, and we can't wait to celebrate him with all of you!
While my prenatal care and his birth is covered at Kaiser through my work insurance and provides for a relatively low-cost delivery, the many regulations Kaiser has communicated will be required, along with our desire for a natural birth, and our mixed experiences with providers and translators at Kaiser has made us feel that delivery at the hospital brings far more fears and stress than anything else.
After much consideration and weighing of options for his birth, we have decided we would both feel safer, happier and more at ease were we able to stay home, have a bilingual midwife, A home birth will allow for the freedom of being able to choose the course of his delivery when the time comes. As of today, we have found someone we both trust completely. She has a long history of experience in midwifery and home births, and is able to easily support us in English and Spanish - something we've come to be very grateful for, and that I especially will need.
The cost of her services (prenatal, delivery & postpartum) is not covered with my insurance though, and so while I will continue with my Kaiser care, and in the end, we could always go to the hospital, we would love make this wish come true: to bring our boy into this world as naturally as it has ever been, and in the safety of our home.
We will be forever grateful for any contribution you can make, and please consider giving here instead of buying a gift. Gifts are always fun, but our happiness and our baby's health are our first priority - the help you can provide will not be forgotten.
