Yesterday, on March 28th, my Uncle, Michael Pressler collapsed at his house. His 6 year old son, Mason rushed to his side. After trying and failing to get a response from his dad, Mason grabbed his daddy's stethoscope and listened for a heartbeat. My brave little cousin then called 911 and told the dispatcher his dad had fallen in the kitchen and would not wake up. He also gave the dispatcher his address.
Being given the correct address and info in a very timely manner, paramedics were able to get to the house without any delay and get Michael to the nearest emergency room. He was then air flighted to SAMC in San Antonio.
Michael most likely had a seizure, and then when he became unresponsive and collapsed, he obtained a skull fracture from hitting his head on the floor.
As of now he is in stable condition, and is resting. He is still a little disoriented, and is in and out of testing.
Michael and his wife Leslie, live in Fredericksburg Tx., with their two beautiful boys; Mason, who is 6, and Simon, who is 5. Michael is a full time mechanic, and has also been a volunteer firefighter and EMT for about 10 years. Leslie works full time and manages a very busy clothing store on Main Street.
Although they are both kept busy, Michael and Leslie make sure the boys remain their number one priority.
Mason and Simon are your typical boys. They love dirt, dinosaurs, and have an obsession with watching and waiting for the garbage man every week.
As if this week has not been challenging enough, Michael and Leslie also suffered a devastating miscarriage this past Wednesday.
After three years of praying, trying, surgery, and then fertility they were excited to find out they were going to be starting the journey of parenthood all over again. This past week, during a scheduled ultra sound, they found out that the baby no longer had a heartbeat.
With the overwhelming stress, devastation, and loss that this week has brought, Michael and Leslie are keeping their faith stronger than ever. Michael remains in the hospital with Leslie by his side, while family stays with their two boys.
I have set up a GoFundMe account to help Michael and Leslie with medical bills, and also to help support them and their children during this time that they aren't able to work. More importantly, I ask that whether or not you are able to make a donation, that you please say a prayer for strength and healing for Michael, Leslie, Mason and Simon.
You can stay up to date with Michael and his recovery by following Leslie's facebook page.
Please feel free to share Leslie and Michaels story and they continue their healing journey.
Thank you!
