The ONE Arts Center provides a creative resource space for the community and encourages an atmosphere of exploration and inquiry for all ages. This is an art space for people to get to know and support each other, to share ideas and resources, and to practice radical, joyful creativity! We've been open for a year and now we're ready to expand!
We are dreaming of a permanent visible art and cultural hub in the Old North End, a place where people can go in the evenings, to hang out, meet each other, and be creative together. The art center will house affordable artist studios, a ceramics studio, a children's learning space, an adult classroom space, an artist residency, where artists from out of town can come stay and do a project with the neighborhood, a community art gallery, and so much more! This will be a meeting place, a place where people can teach classes and learn, and a place where income does not prevent people from being able to make art.
We are launching this fund raiser, in the hopes of raising as much as we possibly can to make the new community art center a reality. The money will help up with the downpayment, fit up costs, as well as scholarships for low income students.
