Justice for Julius
In March of 2019,Julius Irving was arrested and incarcerated for defending himself at his place of employment. We are trying to raise money to post his bail so that he can still work, provide for his children and family, and work on his case from the outside. Julius is a known educator, community leader and activist. He shares wisdom, guidance, and support to men, women and children. He is positively known and valued all through Alachua County, and other states in the United States. Julius has housing, and employment if released, but his family is unable to afford the bail. He could sit for more than a year while the court settles his case.
The incident that led to his incarceration is unfortunate, but continues to have a traumatic impact on Julius and his children. It seems as if he has been fighting for his life since this incident . Julius is known for love for the Black community. He is unapologetic and very intentional about empowering poor communities of Color. Julius was the Alachua County chapter leader on the campaign to restore voting rights. He founded B.O.A.N and created a 10 point program for spiritual and physical freedom. Julius is a devout vegan and always advocate for healthy and clean living. He always modeled his principles and believed in practicing what he preached.
The longer that Julius sits in the jail, the harder it is for him to impact the outcome of his case. Julius gives to his community in so many ways. His bond is currently set at $500,000.00, but we are trying to raise as much money as we can to bring Julius home with his children and family while his case is settled in court. Any support that you can offer is greatly appreciated. This has been a total shock to our family and the community and we look forward to having him home soon where he can get the care, support, and love that he deserves.
