It is with much sadness we share that on September 18th, 2016, Heaven Latimer lost her mother to cancer after a very long and tough battle.
Heaven Latimer has been a member of our Gymnastics community, competing in the sport since she was 5 years old. She made her National debut in 2009 at Elite Canada and worked her way onto the Canadian National Team. Heaven competed for Canada at international competitions with great success over the years.
Those who know Heaven understand what a close relationship she had with her mother. Sharon was a single parent and her passing has left Heaven in a position where she has to take care of herself at the young age of 18. Sharon’s medical expenses far surpassed any funds available to Heaven, leaving her with nothing. She is living with an aunt and uncle while she completes her GED, but has aspirations to further her education and cannot and should not do this alone.
We all recognize the bond this sport brings to us. We are hopeful that our gymnastics community will support Heaven during the most difficult time in her young life to give her a head start into her future endeavours.
