During the night of Hurricane Irma, my daughter, Samantha, went into preterm labor and was rushed to the hospital. There, her baby's heart rate dropped drastically and she was rushed into an emergency c-section, delivering her baby at 29 weeks. The baby and Samantha were separated for a few days, as Baby Lincoln Elisa was sent to St. Joseph's Hospital's NICU. They have since been reunited and mom and baby are doing well but this will be a long road for the both of them.Sami has been put out of work much sooner than she expected and will have unexpected expenses ahead, as she has to travel over 30 minutes to see her baby and food is not allowed in their room.
