EMORY Support for ECUADOR

Donation protected
My name is Jose Antonio Ponce, I am an Ecuadorian citizen who just graduated from Emory University.

With help of my fellow Ecuadorian friends at Emory we decided to conduct a fundraiser for the victims of the earthquake.

On April 16, a 7.8 magnitude earthquake shook the costal areas of Ecuador, leaving 430+ deaths and approximately 2500 injured. Authorities notified that the official death toll is likely to rise, as rescue efforts continue in the costal cities of the country.

Damage to the country's infrastructure is immeassurable, leaving millions without access to basic needs like food and water. The country is devastated as people have lost their homes and loved ones. Six coastal provinces are in state of emergencies.

My fellow Ecuadorian friends and I invite you guys to donate as much as you can. Think about making a little sacrifice in exchange for a massive change. Maybe give up my your daily coffee, or your weekly pack of gums, or even try to walk instead of taking an Uber. Any amount is significant in this situation. LETS BE HUMAN, LETS BE AN EXAMPLE.

The main idea was to use this funds towards one family that needs primary help after the main event. As a result we have found the person in need. Her name is Diocelina Calderon and she works as a maid in Quito. Her mother's house suffered permanent damages and she needs funding and labor help to reconstruct her house. 9 members of her family depend directly on that household and they have been seeking monetary support and hands to help for over 4 months. Gladly, now I can give them the money to buy construction materials and I will be personally go and help reconstruct.

The funds will be delivered to Diocelina by a check from my personal account. To assure the funds are used correctly I am going to administer the moeny and due a buying budget in oder to get the necessary materials to build a new and safe house. Additionaly, I will be recruiting people that want to volunteer for this cause in order to save operation costs.  I will also document all the process so our kind donors know where their money was used!
