Help me Establish Citizenship
I was born in Canada in 1993, and was brought to the U.S. in 1997. I was summited into foster care at the age of 4. I was adopted in 2000 by two U.S. citizens. During that time proper paperwork that should have been completed for U.S. citizenship was for some reason or another overlooked and never filed. Now at the age of 22, I just recieved notice that I now have to go through the immigration system to be able to remain in the U.S.
If I don't get help from a lawyer, I could be deported to Canada where I have hardly ever lived.
I believe that since being here for over 18 years, that I should be able to stay.
With this situation I have been unable to recieve a higher education, get a job or obtain my license. I graduated from public school in N.Y. in 2011. And since then have been unable to start a new chapter of my life.
