Hello, my name is Jeff and I am putting together this fundraiser to build a well for the local village in Tanzania, Manyara Village.
In just over a week myself, my daughter (13), and my best friend Todd will be traveling to Tanzania to climb Mt Kilimanjaro the worlds tallest freestanding mountain. While talking with our guide we were brain storming some ideas on how we could pass on our savings to the people of Tanzania.
He suggested building a well is the most beneficial thing we can do to help the impoverished and so I am making this GoFundMe to start raising the money needed. In the mean time we will be bringing a duffle or two full of school supplies and water filters to help in a smaller but still significant way.
We will be contributing as much as we can personally but will need the help of our friends and family to raise the required funds.
With a little bit of research we have found the average cost to construct a well is around $8000. As you know Gofundme charges fees as well as credit card fees. If you are local and know either Todd and I personally please get in touch and we will meet in person. We will keep track of all offline donations on this fundraiser as well.
