My IC Journey

In 08 I was in and out of urgent care with chronic bladder infections, for a year I went in at least once a month because I was in so much pain. They sent me home saying it's just a bladder infection, until a doctor looked deeper into the tests and noticed they weren't. In 09' I was diagnosed with interstitial cystitis (IC). It is a disease where the lining of my bladder is in bad shape and can't protect it from acidities or bacteria. I am in pain all the time, sometime so bad I can't bare it. It is normal to be peeing blood. There is no cure however they have tried a couple surgeries to strengthen the wall (ended up to painful and not working in the long run) and I've done tons of procedures that include catheters and differant medicines that make me sick or loose hair or gain weight. Im fighting so hard to keep my job as a flight attendant because it makes me so happy and feel I have control over something. It has been 8 years and nothing has put me at ease. I'm seeing a new urologist who is confident that this device called interstim will help me in numerous ways. I have three more surgeries and already have been racked up in bills:/ I have been doing pretty well paying bills but I'm at the bottom of my savings. There is a lot that comes with this disease that I'm still learning for example, IC is an auto immune disease so I'm also struggling to stay up on vitamins (even though most of them put me in a lot of pain). I don't normally ask for money but considering this is the last thing on the list of treatments and I feel pretty confident in the outcome, I really think this may be the end of this rough journey for me! Anything would be a huge help!
