Veggies for Vets 2015
Donation protected
Veggies For Vets (V4V) is an annual family-friendly fundraising event that connects veterans and their families with locally- grown, organic produce. An initiative of Warrior Songs, a non-profit organization with a mission to heal veterans through music and creative art, Veggies For Vets is hosted at Peacefully Organic Produce (POPs), a veteran-led community farm in Waunakee, WI. Peacefully Organic Produce and CSA
5101 County Highway M, Waunakee, Wisconsin 53597
Funds generated through the V4V event are used to purchase CSA (Community Supported Agriculture) shares that provide veteran families with a fresh produce box every week during a 20 week growing season. Shares are distributed through Lisa Vining of the Dane County Veterans Service Office. Donations will also go towards the ‘Veggie Vouchers’ program which allows Madison VA patients to receive free vegetables from the weekly hospital farmers market, the 'Farmacy'. The 2014 event successfully raised enough to fund 15 shares, and we would like to increase that to 20 shares in 2015!
