<div>I carry the scars of a lifetime of struggle. From growing up in South Boston during the busing era—where fire and violence scarred our streets—to surviving a stroke, I have lived what systemic racism, hate crimes, and retaliation feel like.

The Greater Boston Food Bank, Food for Free, and others turned their backs. Don Cox targeted me, and others stayed silent. That silence was privilege in action.
