On May 31, 2026, Officers Jacob Clark and Jacob Wells responded to a domestic disturbance call that quickly escalated into a gunfight due to the perpetrator’s actions. During the approximately 35-minute exchange, both officers were struck by gunfire from either a 9mm handgun or a 7.62 caliber rifle.

Officer Clark sustained seven gunshot wounds and has already undergone multiple surgeries. As part of his lifesaving treatment, he has received more than 71 units of blood. Officer Wells was struck twice, suffering a severe gunshot wound to his right bicep severing his brachial artery as well as a graze wound to his right wrist.

As Officers Clark and Wells focus on their recovery, this fundraiser has been established to support them and their families during the difficult journey ahead. Donations will help ease the financial burdens associated with rehabilitation, time away from work, and the many unforeseen challenges these families will face in the months to come. Your support will allow both officers to focus fully on healing and recovery.

Please consider donating and sharing this fundraiser. Most importantly, please keep Officers Jacob Clark and Jacob Wells, their families, their fellow officers, and all Chesterfield first responders in your thoughts and prayers during this challenging time.

Hello Everyone of you who wishing to see the natural coastal wetlands of the Lynnhaven/Pleasure House Point Natural Area Preserved in FULL with no further invasion and damage. 12 acres of heavily Maritime Forested area within the interior of the 100 acres of preservation is under assault with the city proclaiming that it must obtain wetland credits from it by "restoring" the site and improving its function. The city has been made aware that they can buy all the credits they need from the New Mill Creek bank that are pre-approved by USACE, can be purchased right now in advance of any projects and are fully transferable/usable within the Lynnhaven 00208108 code for any flood projects needed. THE CITY HAS REFUSED. They have continued on plan to destroy this interior site with full demolition clear-cutting of 8 acres of wildlife habitat forest, the destruction of non-tidal/tidal wetlands on entry and the excavation/grading by bulldozers across the entire 12 acres. This will reduce the site to a dirt field plain that will be inundated with tidal waters after. The devastation to this wildlife habitat and all surrounding wetlands area will be MASSIVE- killing all wildlife and birds within, opening us up to storm flood risks, contaminant storm water runoffs into the open waters and wiping out oyster beds along the shoreline. Within months it’s also predicted that the exterior berm walking path will collapse inward because of erosion, tidal force and storm events and there will be no more walking trails as the site will become covered in open water. Sea level resistance, flood barrier protection, uncontrolled contaminant run-off and the entire natural wildlife habitat--gone. And for what? A few credits the city could have already bought for use?

PLEASE consider giving TODAY anything, even $5, to support the defense and protection of this natural park wetlands and wildlife habitat. These funds will be used 100% for the defense of the Pleasure House Point Natural Wetlands and Wildlife Preserve. (The account will be overseen by 3 individuals to insure security/use of funds and will have reports generated for all to see where used)

This doesn’t have to happen to the natural park that everyone loves and fought so hard to keep. Email the city, Email Chesapeake Bay Foundation, Email everyone and tell them what you think. Stop taking and destroying the things we love about our city and do the right thing. Stay out of this natural preserved site area and buy your flood project impact wetland credits that are available and usable immediately.

THANK You! We love all of you who have helped. We will keep up the good fight- for the wildlife, for the families and kids and for all the citizen-residents and visitors who loved this natural park area. We appreciate you.
John Sakmann always put others before himself. In life and love, in military service or at work, he always made it a point to consider how the other person felt. If he was in pain, he wouldn't show it because he didn't want to put that pain on anyone else. He absorbed it all and he took all the hits.

John was a hilarious, loving & thoughtful person. He always put his family, friends & even complete strangers first. On September 11, 2001, while others were running for safety, he ran downtown towards the danger and spent the day helping where he could at Ground Zero. Seeing that he could make a difference, his first thought after 9/11 was to join the military. John served in the US military, he was an Army Ranger Medic from 2002 through 2006. He rose to the rank of Sergeant, but was known as “Doc” to his battle brothers. He served 2 tours of duty, one in Afghanistan “ Operation Enduring Freedom” and one in Iraq “Operation Iraqi Freedom”. Even after his service, he volunteered to help in the aftermath of the earthquake in Haiti in 2010, where used his medical training from the military to give back to those he knew desperately needed help at the time. He wanted to use his training and medical knowledge for more than war. John also excelled as an electrician for the United Nations after his service to his country.

John was challenged and injured, both mentally and physically, in ways no living soul should have to be. John took it all in stride, he persevered and excelled. He never wanted to admit the ways these things had affected him, because he didn't want to put that pressure on anyone else. He also didn't fully understand the long-term effects these experiences would have on him. Military men and women are taught to be strong and not let anything get to them.

He was so proud in everything he did, proud in the fact that he could make a living and provide for his family. John was a beautiful human being, and tried his best to be the greatest husband he could be to Jessica and an incredible father to his amazing daughters. Unfortunately, he was tormented by demons, between PTSD, bipolar disorder & a traumatic brain injury while in service, he did not have an easy life. Even after being diagnosed, he went above and beyond to make sure those around him did not have to deal with his pain. He held it inside. When the Veterans Association finally came around to the fact that he was 100% disabled from the effects of his action in service, he was happy it was finally being acknowledged, and he would be receiving the much-needed benefits for his family. Even then, he was too proud to accept that he was damaged enough to receive these benefits. John wanted to earn his keep and work for a living, he was at his proudest when he felt useful. John felt guilt that there were many others who may have been affected worse than him and that those people were not receiving the help they need. John thought he would lose his benefits, because he felt he didn't deserve them. He did deserve them, and everyone around him told him so. He was so proud, and so damaged, that he couldn't see this. Rather than have his family suffer financially, he over-thought things to the point where he was in a manic state and he did what he thought would be the best thing for them. Even in death, he put his family first.

John felt defined by his work and service but he was so much more than that. He was a loving son to our mother Carol and father Doug. He was hilarious and so thoughtful and well-spoken. He never wanted to say the wrong thing. He always was there for you, and knew when it was time to be serious, or when it was time to goof off. He loved horror movies, wrestling & heavy metal, but was also the sweetest man when it came to his kids and family. He had such a good balance in life but internally he struggled. You would never know it unless you really pushed him to talk about it and even then he just shrugged it off as something he just had to deal with himself. He never wanted to put the stress he was dealing with on anyone else.

As his brother, I was honored to help him put together his military service journal over the last year for the VA, not only to finally be able to try and help him but to understand a small fraction of the pain he suffered on a daily basis. It is unbelievable to me that he is gone, and we will never truly understand what went through his mind in those final hours. But knowing his journey of life through and after the military, and the effects it had on him, there is some slight comfort knowing that he is free of his pain.

People have been asking what they can do to help and in John's honor contributions can be made to help his family and to go towards his two young daughters’ college funds. You can either donate through this GoFundMe Page or make donations directly to the family.

RLTW - RANGERS LEAD THE WAY

John Sakmann's obituary and funeral service information:
https://www.thomasfdaltonfuneralhomes.com/tributes/John-Sakmann

Sadly, John has joined the painful ranks of the 17-22 military veterans who leave us DAILY and way too soon because of their unseen battle scars every day in this country. The mental battle that soldiers have to face after service is real and the men and women who fought for the freedoms we enjoy today are still not being cared for the way they deserve. This is so much more serious than you imagine. Please do not judge what you do not know or understand. Instead, educate yourself and help out however you can. Organizations like the Wounded Warrior Project, Mission 22 and Stop Soldier Suicide are there to help veterans and their families cope and understand this sad reality.

WE HAVE TO DO BETTER FOR OUR VETERANS.

Do not judge John for the way he died, but remember the exemplary human being he was. Check-in on the people you love and let them know what they mean to you. Reach out to those you think may be hurting, it's even more important in these trying times.

And I defeated bogus criminal charges filed against me in Houston, TX by a corrupt District Attorney with ties to the local Planned Parenthood (the DA was thrown out of office in the next election).

And the federal 5th Circuit Court of Appeals ruled this year that my videos are authentic, accurate, and reliable evidence that Planned Parenthood in Houston was using illegal partial-birth abortions to harvest more marketable body parts from late-term abortions.

But Planned Parenthood and the National Abortion Federation are still pressing two tyrannical federal lawsuits against me in San Francisco federal court, in front of Judge William Orrick III. These lawsuits include a gag order against the publication of some of the worst footage I ever recorded of Planned Parenthood's top-level leadership.

Judge Orrick founded, ran, and funded a Planned Parenthood clinic in San Francisco years ago--part of the same Planned Parenthood suing me in his courtroom!--and remained associated with it up through the filing of the lawsuits, yet he has steadfastly refused to recuse himself from the cases. And his fellow San Francisco judges have failed to hold him accountable.

Meanwhile, Planned Parenthood convinced their ally in the California Attorney General's office, now presidential candidate Sen. Kamala Harris, to launch an unprecedented criminal investigation and bogus prosecution of me under the California video recording law! Not a single other undercover journalist has ever been prosecuted under the California video recording law, and they record and publish hidden camera stings on a weekly basis. My case is the first and only one, because it is Kamala Harris's politically-motivated attack on my First Amendment rights to benefit her friends and donors at Planned Parenthood.

That brings us to this $195,000 fine. Planned Parenthood's cronies in the California AG's office are trying to use the secret, unreleased videos that Judge Orrick censored from publication as the evidence to prosecute me. The San Francisco State Court ordered the AG's office to give me and my defense lawyers copies of these videos years ago, with no restrictions on their use.

So when the California AG formally filed these bogus charges, my defense team--Hon. Steve Cooley, three-time DA of Los Angeles and his Deputy DA Brent Ferreira--decided to file the evidence in my defense. These videos prove that the conversations were NOT "confidential" and the recordings were made to gather evidence of violent criminality in the abortion industry.

But Judge Orrick, Planned Parenthood, and NAF reacted viciously, accusing me, CMP, and my lawyers of contempt of Judge Orrick's court and fining us $195,000! Judge Orrick and Planned Parenthood are trying to put their thumbs on the scales of justice and ban my defense lawyers from defending me with the same evidence that the California AG is using to prosecute me!

We appealed this obviously unjust sentence to the federal 9th Circuit, and last week the 9th Circuit declined to consider it until the end of the federal lawsuits. So for now, the fine stands--my team had to scramble to come up with $195,000 to hold in an escrow bond while the federal cases and appeals continue.

That is $195,000 that should be being used to defeat these blatant attacks on our First Amendment rights and to produce more video exposes of Planned Parenthood's sale of baby body parts.

I promise you I am fighting to make sure that not one cent goes to the abortion industry. But I need your help to keep pressing forward full steam ahead, until we bring Planned Parenthood and those who traffic in aborted baby body parts to justice under the law.

I need your help to replace the $195,000 that Judge Orrick unjustly fined us to try to shield his friends at Planned Parenthood from public scrutiny.

Every day, I am still working to document and expose the unethical and illegal commercial exploitation of our unborn brothers and sisters. And the new move by the Trump Administration to end fetal trafficking at government laboratories shows we are having an impact.

I published on op-ed just this weekend in the Washington Examiner exposing liver-harvesting from live-aborted babies by NIH-funded researchers at Planned Parenthood-linked University of Pittsburgh. And CMP has more videos to release soon, and we are fighting in court this summer to liberate the never-released undercover videos that Judge Orrick has censored.

I can't do this without you. Thank you for all of your support so far and please help me with any amount you can.

To learn more about CMP's citizen journalism work, visit: www.centerformedicalprogress.org

To learn more about me, visit: www.daviddaleiden.com

Sources:

https://www.dailywire.com/news/48301/journalist-who-exposed-planned-parenthood-ordered-amanda-prestigiacomo

https://www.grassley.senate.gov/news/news-releases/grassley-refers-planned-parenthood-fetal-tissue-procurement-organizations-fbi

https://archives-energycommerce.house.gov/select-investigative-panel

https://www.nytimes.com/2017/12/08/us/politics/planned-parenthood-fetal-tissue-transfers-federal-investigation.html

https://www.hhs.gov/about/news/2019/06/05/statement-from-the-department-of-health-and-human-services.html

Amber and Bear are in Memorial Herman Houston. Both have multiple broken bones. This is an outstanding family! They are involved with supporting our local community of Riverside and Fire Stations. Please help this precious family due to excessive medical bills and lack of funds that will come in over the next year. Amber and Bear will both be in wheelchairs leaving Aaron to take care of his family 24/7 in a house full of stairs. (My name is Mandy Kibby and I have been friends with the VanRiper family since before John Bear was growing in his mommy's stomach..... Aaron will be withdrawing the donations himself when this fundraiser for his family is over.)
