Founded on February 01, 1972, under the appellation “Women Sports Association of Port-au-Prince”, what is today Association Sportive Tigresses-Tigers (ASTT) was first a women’s soccer club.
In 1975, the club integrated a men’s team into its ranks and called it “Tigers”.
Today, the Association Sportive Tigresses-Tigers is one of the most respected sports associations in the country, not only because of its history of successes, its disciplined organization and the positive and dynamic image it projects in the community, but also and above all, because of its unabated passion for excellence and its continuous quest for victories, all shaped by a strong sense of ethics and fair-play. At the social level, ASTT is a family, a small community, where athletes, as young as 14 years old, work together and learn from 40-year-old+ veterans, contributing to the spirit of teamwork, cooperation, personal and professional growth which permeates the Association.
Our mission is to promote sport practices in Port-au-Prince and throughout the Republic, to participate in football and volleyball tournaments with well trained and high-level men’s and women’s teams, and to maintain the tradition of excellence which has been the hallmark of this Association since it was founded in 1972.
To achieve its objectives, the Association offers to its players and coaches an environment which fosters physical, as well as mental and intellectual growth. The Association also maintains an open dialogue with other local and foreign sports associations, as well as with all supervisory bodies.
The Association’s rules and policies, in full sync with its stated mission and adapted to meet its objectives, are defined at 3 levels:
ASTT has today more than 150 athletes who evolve in one (1) women’s soccer team, two (2) Division I men’s and women’s volley-ball teams, two (2) Division II men’s and women’s volley-ball teams. A volley-ball training camp for boys and girls is also active, forming the ASTT future athletes.
