Texas Anti-Toll Road Fund

$2,240 of $10,000 goal

Raised by 71 people in 16 months
For the past 2 years I have managed the Texas Toll Road Class Action Lawsuit Facebook page to educate Texans about the egregious non-citizen friendly practices of Texas Toll Roads. We've ammassed 25,000+++ petitioners who are interested in filing a lawsuit against the state and or to participate in pushing legislative overhaul to the way toll roads are legally authorized to operate in Texas.

I've spent my own money, more than $500 to date in marketing and advertising. This campaign is to raise enough money to form a 501C3 non-profit, creating an official legal entity. To generate awarness with bumper stickers, T-Shirts and the costs of advertising and being a political activist.

With your help we can raise awareness, pull together enough support to make politiciains pay atention to us and if they do not work for the people, to force their hand with litigation.

If you have been taken to the bank by a Toll charge that added thousands in fees, you want to change this for yourself, others and your children. it is our civic duty to keep politicians straight and honest. Please help!

Sign our petition and support us by sporeading the word. Together we can take back our right to drive and stop private profiteering. If you don't act, someday you may back out of your driveway into a toll booth...

Please spread the word, ask others to sign the petition and to donate even $1 to help us put an end to the abuse.

After years of abuse of Texans by a convoluted Toll Road system fraught with problems turning citizens against the state, a grass roots organization called Texans for Toll Free Highways has been created to drive fundamental changes in legislation to make toll roads operate in a manner that is truly Citizen Friendly.

"Texans for Toll Free Highways was started to raise awareness of how the toll roads operate to citizens, state lawmakers exist's to end the collection of egregious fines, fees and penalties caused, as a direct result of poor legislation - that should prevent the abusive practices by tolling authorities and private interests.

Furthermore, Texans for Toll Free Highways will be actively pursuing legal actions against the state of Texas, local/municipal governments and Private Corporations regulating, operating and planning Toll Roads in Texas. A number of legal precedents across the country have demonstrated that various schemes and practices utilized by Tolling Agencies across the state are likely Unconstitutional.

We take the position that, based on the Texas Constitution, All political power is inherent in the people, and all free governments are founded on their authority, and instituted for their benefit - not to harm them. Lawmakers have turned a blind eye to the abuse for far too long, turning toll roads into cash cows operating in all sorts of manners, across the state of Texas.

It ends here....

ABOUT:
Texans for Toll Free Highways was started more than a year ago as a Change.org petition. That petition has swelled to more than 40,000 signatures, now growing by more than 1000 per week. A Facebook page, a website and other media outlets have followed.

In 2016, certified letters, singed by petitioners, were sent to government officials in Austin, informing them of the problems, including allegations of illegal and unethical activities. It included a message - Telling Lawmakers that the system is broken and Texans have had enough. Only one agency responded in an manner, TXDOT Executive Director James Bass did respond but reported that the activities of otehr tolling agencies was beyond his control to regulate.

The letter was also sent to Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton demanding an investigation to which no action was taken.
