Tammy's Totes of Hope

My name is Tammy Evans and I am a Stage IIIC Ovarian Cancer survivor and thriver. But this effort is not about me. I am raising money to provide tote bags filled with comfort items to help patients in the Seattle/Greater Puget Sound areas undergoing cancer treatment while in the hospital. A hospital stay is a very stressful time for someone recovering from major surgery or other treatments for cancer.
My personal mission is to help fellow cancer warriors (with any type of cancer) not feel alone in their fight so they can better cope with the emotional effects of a cancer diagnosis and harsh effects of treatment. By providing a cheerful tote bag filled with practical items, each recipient will be encouraged to stay strong and keep fighting their personal battle. The items inside each tote will also provide comfort and, hopefully, a few smiles during their stay in the hospital. This is a huge task. Together with the kindness others, my vision will come true.
Each colorful tote will include a high quality soft pillow, sleep mask, ear plugs, emery board, handmade inspirational bracelet to wear, quality oral hygiene products, soft beanie hat, a planner calendar (to keep track of appointments), hand crafted copper etched note pad with pen, and a variety of fun items along with an enCOURAGEment card that I personally sign.
The cost of each tote including the comfort items is just over $50.00. I will personally deliver each tote to different Oncology Units at the University of Washington Medical Center (where I was treated) as well as other hospitals in the Seattle/Greater Puget Sound area.
