"A Friend In Need"

By now, many of you know that Tom has a rare brain tumor/cancer.  The name of this tumor is a multi-focal diffuse midline glioma, high grade cancer.  Just as it's name suggests, it's an extremely aggressive and inoperable cancer, located in the very middle and base of his brain, and in the brain stem.  This tumor affects things we do without even thinking about, such as our ability to see, hear, swallow, and breathe.  Tom's current treatment plan is 6 weeks of radiation treatment (Monday-Friday) at Abbott Northwestern Hospital.  He will also take a chemo pill every night, 7 days a week for 6 weeks, and then once weekly for a year. 

Tom Case - a wonderful husband, father, son, brother, uncle, cousin, and friend.  Most of us know him as a person who loves to volunteer; a grilling and cooking master; a hunter; a fisherman; and story teller, a jokester; and a guy who would drop everything to help out someone in need. 

Many are asking "How can we help?"  There is something we can do. There is an old adage, "A friend in need is a friend indeed".  This is our battle cry!

The enormity of the care and treatment for Tom, coupled with frequent visits for treatments, plus the extremely daunting medical expenses, will be overwhelming for Tom, Paula and the entire Case family.
