Support Quest House Community Healing!

Quest House, a project of 501c3 non-profit L.C. and Lillie Cox Haven of Hope, is on a mission to provide safe, supportive, and affordable post-op lodging for trans men and transmasculine folks pursuing gender-affirming bottom surgeries in the San Francisco Bay Area. We have outgrown our current 2 bedroom space and we are raising funds to move into a new, larger healing home where we'll be able to support more trans folks through their surgeries. We've found the perfect home -- now we need your help to move in and transform it into a healing sanctuary!

Nobody should have to recover from life-changing surgery alone, but many trans people have no choice. Whether it’s due to a lack of family support, limited financial resources, or no safe friends to confide in, so many of us are forced to be alone during our time of greatest need, or are unable to access the care we need entirely. The barriers to care can feel insurmountable, and Quest House exists to help to make this process easier, more affordable, and less isolating.

“The loneliness I experienced during my phalloplasty recovery was excruciating – but healing alongside other folks on the same journey helped me move into this long-awaited next phase of life feeling safe and seen, rather than scared and alone.”
- Owen, Quest House Director

Quest House is more than just a sanctuary for healing, but also a beacon of hope for trans folks who are seeking acceptance and understanding on their path to authenticity.

“I would not have made it through the most beautiful and difficult experience of my life without the love and support of my Quest House family. I am forever grateful.” - Quest House guest

History: A labor of love that is driven by trans folks for trans folks, Quest House was founded in 2016 and quickly became a cherished community resource that transformed the lives of several dozen trans folks each year. Unfortunately, the home was forced to prematurely close its doors in May 2020 at the height of the Covid-19 pandemic. This was a painful loss for our community that left a large gap in resources — until a team of passionate volunteers came together to bring Quest House back to life. Our community needs Quest House — but we can’t do this alone.

With your financial support, we will open the doors to a new Bay Area trans healing home in Summer 2024!

Funds raised will support us with:

  • Rent: First month, last month, and security deposit for our new recovery home
  • Furnishings: Furniture and supplies to ensure our community healing space is well equipped (8 beds, dressers, appliances, recliners, etc)
  • Scholarships: Creating a scholarship specifically for BIPOC trans folks as well as offering discounts to people experiencing homelessness or financial hardship
  • Volunteer Compensation: We aim to be able to compensate the trans folks who put so much energy and effort into this resource
  • Administrative and Fiscal Sponsorship Fees: Funding the systems that keep us going and maintain our tax-deductible status

Your donations will have a tangible, life-changing impact on countless trans folks during their time of personal transformation. For so many of us, this journey is more than a surgery — it’s a deeply spiritual quest. This is not a path to walk alone, and we want to make sure that no one has to.

“Quest House is a magical place. Going through phalloplasty is one of the most exciting, scary, and beautiful things I’ve ever done. Having a space with people who understand it allowed me to process such a drastic transformation.” - Quest House guest
