My name is Manuel Espregueira Mendes, and I am a 28 year old rider from Portugal. I am competing in the 2018th edition of the Mongol Derby, the worlds longest and toughest horse race. Each competitor must raise a total of at least 1000£ for charity, divided in two parts.
The first is the official charity of the Derby, Cool Earth, which does an amazing job at preserving endangered forests.
The second is of each rider's choice. I chose to help the victims of the 2017 portuguese fires, which raged throughout the country.
The total sum gathered here will be split in half between the two organisations.
