Polish Theatre At Its Best!

Hello there,

This is Anna and Maks! If you don’t know us yet, we hope that thanks to this campaign you will have a chance to meet us at our best very soon…

We are two Polish performers who met a year ago starring in The Polish Theatre Institute’s production of The Adventures of a Cheating Flea. We enjoyed ourselves a lot while embodying the characters from the play and shortly after the show, we decided to continue working together to create more projects. Soon, we realized that we have more in common than passion for theatre. We both have the desire to share the voices of the greatest artists of our country with others. 

And this is how we got here… 

Let us introduce you to our current project:

‚The Story of Two Poets' or ,Osiecka - Przybora Correspondence’ is a theatrical adaptation of Adrianna Kućmierz’s recital. The idea for  the project was born during Anna’s conversation with Adrianna last winter. 

The work of Osiecka and Przybora has been inspiring not only the Polish artists, but the majority of the nation for over five decades. The artistic achievements of the poets are  treasures, permanently imprinted on the cards of Polish contemporary history giving us another reason to feel proud of where we come from.

The story of the play is inspired by a romantic relationship of two great poets - Agnieszka Osiecka and Jeremi Przybora, that we know about from the letters they exchanged between 1963-1965. This correspondence intertwines with beautiful poetry and songs giving a vivid image of what love means to an artist.

Our show will be presented entirely in Polish. However, to make it accessible to all, it will include English subtitles displayed during performances.

As you all know, creating art in the city of New York is definitely not an easy task. 

It’s expensive…. very expensive… very very expensive… Kinda overwhelmingly expensive. 

That’s okeeeeey though…. it just adds to the experience, right?

In order to make it all possible, we must raise money for things, such as space rental, props and necessary equipment. Being surrounded by many wonderful people we have already gained access to affordable sources that will make the process much easier.
