Get The Pink Puck to the Olympics

Donation protected
Have you ever been to the Olympics?

The vast majority of fans, or people for that matter, probably screamed at the screen in a “what the eff ref voice,” a strong “NO!” And if you were able to answer yes, then I’m truly excited for you. You’ve already gotten to experience one of the most prestigious events in sports history and for that, I’m extremely jealous.

But the truth is, many people won’t ever have the chance to attend the Olympics. There, I said it. And maybe you’re thinking this is not a great way to sell my GoFundMe pitch, but WAIT, there’s more! While I can’t offer you a ticket to PyeongChang 2018 , I can offer you something better. Okay, perhaps not better, but I can offer you the opportunity to follow along. Choose to be a part of something real. Enjoy Olympic coverage through the eyes of someone who has never been to the Olympics, from a writer who cares about the smaller stories, the hometown hockey heroes, hockey fans, the atmosphere inside the rink and the energy radiating outside of it in addition to the action on the ice. Wouldn’t it be a breath of fresh air to have a journalist willing to bring you coverage beyond what the mainstream media chooses to provide?

We aren’t a huge news outlet, we don’t get to travel far and wide to cover the greatest events in hockey history (although when we do, we bring you some pretty awesome coverage), but we’d like to broaden our outreach. I’m happy to report, that The Pink Puck has been credentialed by the Olympic committee and now we’re hoping to get to South Korea.

We are proud to be one of a few sites with a predominately female voice and appreciate the sport at all levels. If you skate over to the site , you’ll find a healthy mix of coverage from across the leagues and so much more. This is a huge opportunity for a site that doesn’t just focus on the professional leagues. Our passion for the sport and the coverage we give to it is a labor of love, each and every day.

Finding the money, as a self-funded website, for travel from Boston to South Korea, accommodations, food (yes we try to eat occasionally), and equipment is no easy feat, but we’re determined.

Bringing us to this: We’re just a group of girls (women) standing in front (well, behind a screen) of fellow hockey (sports) fans, asking them to love us (by donating).

As some semi-famous hockey player (insert sarcasm here) once said “You miss 100% of the shots you don’t take,” So we’re taking a Wayne Gretzky shot with GoFundMe to fund our dream of covering the 2018 Winter Olympics.

Every donation counts and we appreciate your consideration.

Hockey hugs,
Winter
