Peter Reuter Iditarod Fund

Donation protected
Peter Reuter was born to drive a dogsled. He started running dogs in 1985, in Crested Butte, Colorado, and hasn’t stopped since. He came up to Alaska from his home in the Adirondacks during the 2012 Iditarod season, searching for a handling gig that would let him race when he wasn’t helping out his musher. Mushing has been a hobby of his for two decades. Lately, he’s had the racing bug. Now, after years of experience, Pete is gearing up with his own dogs to hit the Iditarod trail.

Pete works year round with dogs. In the winter season, he works with competitive Iditarod mushers as a dog handler. In the summers, Pete works with Alpine Air and the Seaveys, a mushing family with multiple wins in the race and well known in the dog mushing community. As a handler and guide, Pete continues to expand his knowledge of Alaska’s terrain, his dog team, and the race.

His lifelong dream of racing the Iditarod is coming to life this season. So where do you come in? As he prepares for the race, we are asking for donations to help fund him all the way across the finish line.
