Operation Christina

Donation protected
We have a team family that's youngest daughter has been diagnosed with Rasmussen's Encephalitis. It's a rare inflammatory neurological disease, characterized by frequent and severe seizures, loss of motor skills and speech, hemiparesis (weakness on one side of the body), encephalitis (inflammation of the brain), and dementia. Unfortunately, the only option for this 3 year old is a rather drastic one: Hemispherectomy, or disconnection/removal of the diseased half of the brain. The  Guthrie family is AMAZING and my heart breaks for everything they are facing.

In Emerald City Gymnastics Academy fashion, we will do what we can to ease any pain, or any struggle. Operation Christina has begun. Our goal is to turn this family's unfinished yard into a safe place for Christina to be. Surgery will be in a few months, WE HAVE WORK TO DO!

Thank you all for your help with this community service project. The more on our ChristinaCrew the better!
