Angie  has always had a passion for track and field. She was an All Ohio Valley Conference performer. She lettered all 4 years and still holds the 4th all time indoor long jump and the 5th all time outdoor long jump record at Western Kentucky University. She had qualified in National meets in which she had the opportunity to compete against Florence Griffith Joyner and Jackie Joyner Kersee. She's continuously been involved with track and field since college whether she was coaching or sharing knowledge of the sport to amateur athletes. Unfortunately in 2007 she had to make a difficult decision to have back surgery. This was definitely a set back but it didn't prevent her from getting back in the game. She spent many years going through a healing process and trying to get herself back into shape. Over the last year she felt that she was finally ready to compete again. She made dedicated time training and locally competing in Senior games to get herself back in the atmosphere. Her dream was to be able to compete in the National Senior games against the best qualified candidates around the states. After all the committed time and hard work she is finally able to live that dream. She competed in Danville, Ky Senior games she placed 2nd for 50m and 100m and placed 1st in the long jump. She was then informed that she qualified in all 3 of those events for the National Senior games! This event is will be held in June 2019 in New Mexico. She is working so hard training and also working extra hours trying to make additional money to fund this trip. I think this is an awesome opportunity and would love for her to be able to go. She has had such great support from friends and family thus far. If you are willing and able to help her fund this trip she would forever be grateful. No matter how much can be given every little bit will help for cost of travel and stay. She has been trying to do this by herself and I want her to enjoy the experience and not worry so much about how it can happen.
