As many of you know, our much-loved Monique’s battle with brain cancer began in 2013 when she was six months pregnant with Sylvie. In early 2014, she had successful brain surgery.
Now, just short of three years later, the tumour has begun to grow back at what is suspected to be a more accelerated rate than the first. This time surgery is not an option.
Monique will begin radiation and chemotherapy starting mid-December until Summer 2017.
Prior to her latest MRI, Monique and Scott booked a trip to Mexico to spend Christmas with family and friends. As Monique will be starting treatment, she will no longer be able to go. In true Monique fashion, she has selflessly insisted that Scott and the kids continue with plans to join the family in Mexico, as the coming months will not be easy on any of them.
Due to the intensity of the treatments, Monique will be unable to work and the family will be reduced to one income as Monique focuses completely on her health.
The question of “How can I help?” comes up often. In January, the family will require live-in assistance to care for the children. Any amount you can contribute for their live-in help would be greatly appreciated.
Ideally, we want nothing more than for Monique and Scott to be able to focus on her treatment - without the added financial stress.
Anyone who knows Monique, knows she is an absolutely beautiful person in all aspects. She has and will continue to fight hard for her and her family!
