I have always had a thirst of knowledge. No matter the focus of my passion, I have a drive inside me to learn all I can about topics that catch my eye or pull on my heart. In college I put my mind to learning about how the mind works and the plethora of meaning behind human behavior while studying Psychology. In more recent years my passions have shifted their focus. I have been increasingly interested and active in my faith, Christianity. As I sought out discipleship, mentoring, and teaching, one thing continued to ignite a fire in my heart: YWAM's Chronological School of Biblical Studies.
In this 9 month class students are challenged to dive into the mindset of the target audience of the Bible. Students approach the text almost more academically than spiritually. Paragraph by paragraph students make their way through the Bible discovering Turths and historical context that help to better illuminate the originally intended application of the text. Observations are charted, interpretations are developed, and applications, both personal and historical, are discovered. By the end of the 9 months, students gain a better understanding of the historical and cultural context of the Bible, along with an intricate understanding of the text, and a deeper appreciation for the sacrifice of Christ.
In the time I spent with YWAM, I continually felt a pull toward this school. The thought of wading through and digging deep into the book that supports my entire life stirrs up excitement in my soul. It was never the right time for me to embark on this journey. But, now, after spending the last few months in prayer over the matter, I believe that it is the right time to step forward into this adventure.
The school's tuition is $8,185. This covers housing and 3 meals a day, along with research material and opportunities to serve the community. In addition to that I am looking for financial support for the months I am in the school (cost of gas, insurance payments, and other misc. needs) totally about $10,000.
I am looking for one of two things here 1). one time donations to be used to help pay my tuition and 2). monthly supports who are willing to partner with me throughout the process.
