Luke's Army

Donation protected
On June 2nd around 4pm Luke was involved in an explosion and fire severely burning both legs, his left arm and the left side of his face. Luke was immediately taken to the local ER and then transported via helicopter to the Lehigh Valley Ceder Crest burn center. where he will stay for a minimum of three weeks. Many have asked for the opportunity to help provide for Luke and Cecilia's financial needs.  Our goal of $15,000 is the bare minimum to cover the following expenses.

Insurance deductible + Out of pocket maximum IF all services are in network =  $11, 250

Car repairs and inspection = ~$500
Their Corolla is up for inspection soon but needs work to pass (suspension and possible body work). Luke had intended to do the repairs himself, but now that is impossible. I'm giving my best ballpark guess on these costs.

Monthly budget to meet basic expenses including mortgage = ~$2400
The goal here is to cover the month of June. We will see where things go from there.

Incidental medical expenses = ~$1000
We don't have all specifics, but we know once Luke comes home many of the wound dressing supplies won't be covered. Just one tube of the ointment he needs is $300. There will also be travel costs associated with follow up visits.

On top of this will be the cost of the helicopter transport from Tyler Hospital to the Lehigh Valley Cedar Crest burn unit. We are still waiting to hear what part of that, if any, insurance will cover. We are trusting that God will provide exactly what is needed. We are so grateful for the prayers and support we have received from so many. We serve a great and faithful God!

EDIT: For Luke to come home all the carpet and several pieces of furniture in his home must be replaced due to their age and potential contaminates they contained that could get into wounds and cause infection. Family has already ripped up and disposed of carpeting and furniture. Flooring repairs started on 6/17 and the project should be completed in approximately two weeks. One donor, after hearing of the additional expenses, offered $5000 to cover the cost of the downstairs flooring materials.

Flooring = $8000 (down to $3000 after donation)
Labor for repairs and installation = $8000
Additional repair and installation supplies = $4000

The GoFundMe has been updated to reflect these needs.
