My Dad - Stroke Fund

The Beginning
This is the story of how my father had a stroke.  It was on May 11th 2017 about 4am when he started seizing and fell off the bed. Charlie entered the hospital being completely paralyzed on the entire left side of his body: not being able to see, feel, or hear. He was on the verge of dying because his brain kept swelling up. Charlie has been in the hospital since the incidient. Charlie had a brain aneurysm and when he fell the vein popped in his head bleeding out realeasing blood into the skull. He was hook up to a bunch of machines and there was a high chance he wasn't going to make it. Luckily the worst part is over and he isn't in critical condition anymore.

The Middle
Currently we are still in the beginning and early stages of recovery. The doctors have informed us that it would be best not to perform surgery as it might cause him to go into a coma or even die.The first week he was only able to slur his words and being able to stay awake for a few minutes just to look at his family before he fell back to sleep. The nurses started his rehabilitation but the process is a slow and long journey ahead for Charlie. He's been very depressed and sad the last week because he wants to be home with his family. Although he's been sad he always tries to joke around and smile when we come to visit, but when he is alone with my mom he starts crying telling her how he misses his family.

The End
His job requires the use of both his hands and feet so because of this he might not be able to ever work again.
We're all really hoping his road to recovery is quick and short so that Charlie can come home to his family. Realistically the recovery will most likely take as long as a few years. As of right now we don't have too much on his recovery but we are hoping for the best and praying that he gets stronger and back to his normal self.

Family
Charlie is 45 years old. Richie the youngest son at the age of 13 witnessed the entire tramatic experience and my younger sister Diana (17 ) called the ambulance to the house. I'm the oldest son David (19) of Charlie and I found out during a meeting that he had a stroke which was a week before finals. I left that same thursday afternoon from Los Angeles to Palm Springs. Charlie is the father of 3 and has a loving wife and family.

Purpose
Charlie was the main provider for our family and both him and my mom were working a painstaking 7 days a week to help me through college. My parents are hard working folks but they didn't make much so I was hoping through your generous donations it can help pay for Charlie's rehabilitation and inhome care once he is strong enough to come home and to be with his family again.

Every donation helps whether big or small. Please help us spread the word.
