Karen's healing journey

Karen is a wonderful friend to many, our friendship started back in my Forest High School Days.
A few months ago I was shocked to hear that she has Cancer of the Pancreas, a tumor sitting on an artery ,
it is at this stage in operable , at least here in Australia.
Pancreatic cancer is a silent killer. Karen was operating like any of us would and suddenly felt a pain in her stomach. She was told it might be a gallstone or an ulcer, but was given the worst news you could ever get.
For the past 5 months whilst dealing with the most aggressive chemotherapry she could tolerate.
Apart from the nausea and the stress of the illness,
finanical pressures are mounting.
She has be unable to work for much of this year and although we think that Medicare looks after us in our time of need, her famliy have been horrified at the medical bills Medicare doesn't cover.
She recently went for a scan that cost $900 but not covered.
Karen is currently enduring daily chemotherapy and radiotherapy and will continue until 23 Dec.
Depsite this she is doing what she can to save her own life. Amongst all of this turmoil Karen remains cheeful and optimistic she has always been positive about life.
She is also pursuing natural remedies that , although
enormously expensive, seem to be achieving an outcome that the surgeons admit, they did not think was possible.
Like alot of us Karen does not like asking for help.
Karen needs our support.
Karen has found cutting edge life saving treatments in Germany , they are leading the world in research and discovering new treatments and hopefully a cure for this disease.
I know that there are many Forest High friendsout there as well as other people whose lives she has touched over the years that would love to help get her to Germany.
So please give what you can to get my friend lifesaving treatment.
