Healing Justin Kerrick’s Heart
Donation protected
On Monday, Feb. 25, Justin was admitted to VCU for a mitral valve repair in his heart. We all anticipated a minimally invasive surgical approach and a quick recovery.
The surgery took a bit longer than expected, and also required a sternotomy (open heart approach). At the conclusion of the surgery, Justin was brought up to the ICU as anticipated.
He had a difficult time once he made it to the ICU, and actually went into cardiac arrest. The ICU team performed chest compressions to save his life.
I want to give others including myself the opportunity to help contribute to help with medical expenses and day to day expenses so he and his family can focus on his recovery.
