Jackson has a brain tumor that has destroyed his pituitary gland. We are waiting on a plan of action from children’s hospital. As the bills
mount, we begin to wonder how we are going to pay . With every trip, comes new tests, frequent mris, and full skeletal scans. We started this journey in July , and we still have no plan of action or complete diagnosis! We may be forced to go to John’s Hopkins children facility in Florida to get answers due to the rarity of his conditions. While the doctors have waited , a 3x5 mass has now manifested in his back side. This cancer seems to affect the glands first. This has become almost too much for a thirteen year old to take. I am his grandmother , and I feel totally helpless to help him or my daughter. When she calls me crying , I try to be uplifting , but I usually cry myself for 30 minutes after I hang up. We know that Jackson will be on chemical life support for the rest of his life due to his pituitary gland basically being dead. Jackson’s body will no longer make testosterone,vassopressin to control his thirst, cortisol for stress and synthroid for thyroid. His body is in a constant state of dehydration which is a secondary condition called diabetes insipidous. If I can help them get some financial relief ,at least ,I would have done something. We know this road is going to be a long one, and their insurance deductibles will start all over in January. This means Jackson’s daily medicines will go back up to full price which is $1,000 dollars a month. I thank any one who donates in advance.
