Ivy Lynn: 1yo Allergic to WATER!!
My name is Ivy Lynn and I am one and a half years old. When I was about a year old I started to have random allergic reactions after bath time. My parents and I have had the hardest time trying to figure out what could be causing this. At first we thought that it was probably from the bubble bath, so we got rid of that, and I would still break out in the worst blistery rashes. We tried getting rid of all of my shampoos and soaps and I would still break out. We tried having bath time at grandma and grandpas and even at a couple of different hotels with the same issues. My parents decided that it was time for me to go in and see the doctor to see if they could help figure out what was going on. After going in and having tests done they tell me that I have aquagenic urticaria, I am allergic to water. It has even gotten so bad that if I sweat a lot I will have a breakout. I am taking antihistamines to help control my reactions but it still hurts very bad. Having very pure water seems to help along with taking my medicine, unfortunately we live in a very old house and the water isn't the best here either. Now my family and I are going to have to find a new home with a well, a purified water system, and central air, as this would greatly limit the severity of my reactions. Any, and all, donations we receive will be used to provide me with the best care possible and to help cover research and medical expenses. My family and I appreciate each and every one of you and truly want to thank you from the bottom of our hearts. Love, Ivy Lynn+ Read More
