The Dewitt County Human Resource Center in Clinton IL is a non-profit organization that serves people in Dewitt County. Our doors have been open for more than 42 years.
Our Mission:
To provide a continuum of quality service for people with mental illness, substance abuse, and developmental disabilities as well as for those experiencing normal life challenges such as stress, parenting issues, and interpersonal conflicts.
DCHRC and its programs are 60% funded by the Illinois Department of Human Services. Unfortunately, the State of Illinois is experiencing a budget crisis. The state is a full year behind on FY16 grant payments and there is currently no budget for FY17. We have received some funds due to a federal consent decree ordering the state to pay for developmental services and some mental health and substance abuse services. At this point, there is no indication as to when DCHRC will receive payment for additional services provided to clients. As a result, DCHRC is in imminent danger of closure this summer!
When DCHRC closes Dewitt County will lose:
· Encore Thrift Store (Providing Employment Opportunities for Adults with Disabilities)
· Garden Showcase Specialists (GSS)
· 24 Hour Crisis Intervention Services
· The only Licensed Provider of Substance Abuse Treatment
· Developmental Training Services
· Supported Living for People Experiencing Mental Health Disabilities
· Outpatient Mental Health Counseling
· Addictions Recovery
· Case Management and Community Support
· Psychiatric Services
· Prevention Programs
Any donation will be used to close our funding gap and help us survive until a budget is passed. These services are essential to our small rural community. Again, we are the only provider of many of these services and the primary provider of others in our county. We are asking for your help. Any size donation no matter how big or small will make an impact on the community and preserve our services. Please help us continue to provide the vital services that we offer. We appreciate every effort made on our behalf.
