Help save Teddy the Cavapoo puppy

A few weeks ago my good friends Jamie and Sarah decided to start a new chapter in their life by adding a lovely little puppy to their family. They found him, met him, brought him home and immediately fell in love with him. They called him Teddy and he may be the cutest Cavapoo I have seen (I’m not just being bias.)
Like all good pet owners, they took him to the vet within a couple of days to get his standard checks. The vet thought something wasn’t right and that little Teddy may have a severe heart murmur. Obviously, both Sarah and Jamie’s hearts sank but they were willing to do what they could for Teddy.
After spending a substantial amount on tests, they found out yesterday that Teddy has Patent Ductus Arteriosus (PDA). This is a blood vessel in the heart that should have closed just after birth, but did not. If this is left untreated, there is more than 50% mortality rate by year 1 which is something very difficult to hear.
After further tests and scans, it was found that Teddy has an abnormal shaped PDA. This is found in less than 1% of diagnosed cases. This means that Teddy cannot have keyhole surgery and will have to have open chest surgery which is much riskier.
The good news is this can be treated by surgery and he would live a completely normal life if successful. This is something we all want for Teddy but this comes at a hefty cost. The £3,500 bill is something that most people will struggle with. This is why I have decided to start a GoFundMe page on behalf of my friends and their little puppy as I know this will make a big difference to them.
Sarah and Jamie have followed the correct process and got insurance etc but as the problem was caused at birth, the insurance will not cover it.
Any donation towards the treatment for Teddy is massively appreciated and I cannot thank you enough for any support shown.
