31856674_153332888918893_r.jpegRuss is a local Fort Worth musician who has been living in his car for the past few years.  He plays keyboards most nights on Magnolia for tips, but that isn't enough for him to pay for a place. As Russ gets older it's harder for him to continue to maintain his heath and the health of his pets. One of Russ's pets died earlier this year and that was heartbreaking for him and many of his friends. With just a little money we could get Russ into a small apartment in Fort Worth and ensure he spends the winter indoors.

So, the wheel is turning,
won't slow down.
can't let go
can't hold on.
can't go back
can't stand still.
thunder don't get you
lightning will.

Soo, joe and co.,
God bless 'em,
got the brightly lit idea
to set up a gofundme account
to the end that i'd be able to pay
to live indoors
instead of in my
Jeep Grand Cherokee

Two things that few new
when Joe and co. did that,
First was the Jeep had just gone down and would not start and second, in a matter of days,
Officer Campbell of FWs finest,
would write and present Russ
with a citation for private use of sidewalk, and would also return
a few weeks later warning Russ
in October he would return yet again
to arrest Russ and impound the Jeep, Russ'
gear and Oympia.

Needless to say, that got our attention and in essence, brought a three years long run of sidewalk performances to a crashing halt. And took away what had become a reliable and not inconsequential source of financial means.
It was into this fray
the GoFundMe began to flow and although intended to provide for housing and now long since fizzled out, falling far short of its goal, nevertheless, became a vital lifeline for Russ and Olympia during that time.

Since then, Russ and Olympia have returned to sidewalk performances at the TCU area on Berry Street where they first began and Russ has been brainstorming a number of other options the most promising of which is performing at nursing homes, retirement centers and the like and bears great promise. And also as luck would have it Russ has taken a
job as Music Director/Teacher with St Augustin Catholic Church which has provided as a part of it's compensation for Russ and Olympia to have an RV to live in.

Russ has also continued to nurture and develop his budding enterprise "Things Tie Die For" and while that is going well, the combined income from TCU sidewalk performances and the tie dye has so far been grim, meager
at best and Russ has been unable to avoid fallling increasingly farther behind on paying the storage rent. Ironically, since he now for the first time in many many moons actually has a home to move his belongings into and get out of the storage, this arrears has reached a
critical point and Russ and Olympia need some help to get past this and on with moving out of storage and into their new life. If you can pitch in $5 this is the time it will do the most good. And most importantly,
if you can pass the word that's what really makes this work!

Russ has also recently received word from the lawyer that's handling his Social Security disability claim for curved spine, that SS has promised to process his application before the end of the year, and so there's a possibility the monthly checks may start coming January!
So, all this, taken together is beginning to have the ring of financial stability just on the horizon. Pease help if you can and thanks for caring, blessings for the holidays and wishes for a peaceful and prosperous New Year
ahead.

Looks like my days as a sidewalk performer and dog lover on Magnolia are numbered. The police only hear complaints. They never get a call to come out and celebrate a sidewalk moment or commune with a remarkable chocolatey brown eyed border collie. The tyranny of the minority elite is alive and well in Fairmount. You in the silent majority, raise your voices, be heard. Don't allow the greed mongers to ram rod public policy. Be bold. If you dare. This must not stand. The line is here, no further.
Never got a ticket before for singing
Never interacted with J Campbell
Never thought it would go this far.

So, the go fund me campaign is flagging and has stalled just shy of $1000, toward our goal of $5000. It's been several days since the last donation was made. I imagine those who have pitched in so far might be interested to hear how things are going so i hope an update would serve to inform and remind. It seems that it's word of mouth that puts the crowd in crowdfunding.

As luck would have it, just before Joe Savage told me about the GoFundMe campaign, my Jeep had broken down and it is still down so I haven't had transportation for a month. Of course the Jeep is old and it would take a lot money just to get it legal besides what it may take to get it running, so I have been looking around to see if I could get some thing else and retire the Jeep.

A friend has stepped up and offered to let me park on his property until I can get something worked out. It happens he also has a Ford Van that he wants to sell. It has a bed in the back and would suit well for what Olympia and I need. He is only asking $1500.

I can probably get around $500 salvage for the Jeep running or not. So only a little more coming from the campaign will put us over the top and get us a much bigger more comfortable vehicle that. gets better gas mileage and above all is legal!

So pass the word .

blessings
gratitude
peace.
