This is Eddie. He is quite the trooper to say the least!! He is a rescue and as you might notice, his tongue hangs out of his mouth, and it always will. Pending potential surgery
A little back story. As I said Eddie is a rescue and has a severe jaw deformity that is causing a substantial infection in his mouth. The jaw deformity is thought to be caused by a combination of congenital factors and trauma.
He lived his life outside in a kennel down south and he had heartworm disease. Since his jaw muscles are fused shut Eddie needs to go to a special facility to have his surgery done, because he needs to be intubated via tracheostomy. Because of the severity of his deformities and prior trauma, his total surgery costs will be about $7000 (estimate). He will get the surgery no matter what, but as a vet student any contribution will be GREATLY appreciated and will bring Eddie one step closer to a normal life!
