Help Kristina go to College!

Kristina has been accepted into Regis University in Denver, Colorado. She is super intelligent already- multilingual, problem-solving, etc.- but has been super interested in the opportunity to continue her education, especially with recent inspiration from her three younger siblings.

As someone with Down Syndrome, Kristina has had to fight for her education since she was young. She and her parents have worked hard and have battled to ensure that she receive an equitable education. They have had pushback because of her disability but never gave up and from this, Kristina has learned to stand up for herself always and take any opportunity that comes her way to grow.

Recently the Global Down Syndrome Foundation has teamed up with Regis University to give people like Kristina the opportunity to continue their education at a college level with their new Global Inclusion Program. Immediately, Kristina was interested in interviewing for this opportunity. She knew that even if she couldn’t make it into the program there would be others like her who got this opportunity and was willing to part with it, if it meant equal opportunities for others with mental disabilities. However, Kristina did not have to part with her dream of going to college and was accepted to the program. It seemed like fate since the orientation day was on Kristina’s favorite day of the year, her birthday!

This go-fund me will help pay for Kristina’s college tuition. Having never heard of a program like this in the states, Kristina never got a college savings account. Because it is not a certified, official transitional learning program, there is not federal funding to help. With three children already in college, Caroline and Joe, could really use the help to send Kristina to Regis University.
