The Rowland Family Fund

Zion Rowland officially became a Rowland on June 5th of this year! For all of you that helped to bring him home, thank you so much. You were an instrumental part of uniting this family.

Little Zion still needs our help!

On November 13, he will undergo urgent, open heart surgery to repair a complication related to his heart condition, Tetralogy of Fallot, or TOF. Due to some muscle bundles inside Zions heart, the blood flow through his pulmonary valve  is restricited and is causing his little heart to work much harder than it should.  After meeting with doctors earlier this fall, it was apparent that the need for this surgery was urgent, and could not be delayed. So, less than a year after returning from China, they find themselves facing another mountain.

Because of their travel to China earlier this year, Shelli has very little employer Paid Time Off remaining for the year.  She shared with us she is having to make the very difficult decision of continuing to work, while Zion is recovering at home. As her friends, we put our heads together and said there must be something we can do to help!

What if those of us that love the Rowlands, and support their family carried them in this time of need?

We think a mama should be with her baby when he' s recovering from Open Heart Surgery!  We think a mama should not be thinking about work and finances while she's caring for her son post open heart surgery!

That is why we are reaching out to you…We stepped in and said, “Yes, we will help this family!”(They didn’t even ask us to, we just knew this was the right thing to do.)

Shelli's employer agrees she should be home with Zion and has granted her permission to take the remaining 5 1/ 2 weeks of FMLA she has to be home with Zion!  But of course, FMLA doesn't provide a paycheck.

Would you consider joining us to help the Rowland’s be home with Zion while he recovers?   We need to raise  $5000 by Friday, November 10 th , so that Shelli and Collin can be by Zion's side without worrying about lost income for their family. This money will
help cover the cost of groceries, bills and other necessary expenses to keep the Rowland’s be by Zion’s side while he is healing. These funds would not only help to encourage this dear family, but help Zion to be fully supported in his recovery.
