Amber is 23 and was headed to take an exam at Saginaw Valley State University in Michigan  early Friday morning, December 14th around 7am when she had a head on collision with a truck.  They had to use the jaws of life to cut her out of the vehicle.  Her entire left side was broken.   She had internal bleeding, liver damage as well as many other broken bones.  We have been told there is bleeding along with a  head injury.  She has had 5 surgeries the past 3 days, with more to come.  She has not been responsive until today, she recognizes loved ones' voices and is able to squeeze our hand.  The Doctors say that her recovery will be a marathon.  We are looking at years of therapy and recovery.  We aren't sure how long or what therapy will be needed until she is more alert and can explain what hurts.  We know she is a fighter.  A very strong young woman who is smart and determined.  She will get through this.  We, her family, want to help her any way we can.  We are asking for funds, as you are able and prayerfully led, to help get her through the next several years.  The travel to and from rehabilitative appointments, to pay for things that insurance won't cover.  To give Amber the ability to focus on healing and not worry about where the money is going to come from.  We covet your prayers today and in the days, months and years ahead.  Thank-you for helping and for your prayers.
